Enhancing NB Francophone Newcomer Settlement Services
The Multicultural Council of New Brunswick Inc. (NBMC) supports the efforts of all its established and emerging member ethno-cultural, multicultural associations and immigrant-serving agencies to improve settlement services and better serve French-speaking newcomers in their host communities.
NBMC works closely with the Francophone ethno-cultural / multicultural associations and immigrant-serving agencies to increase their capacity to meet the needs of Francophone newcomers in rural areas by strengthening the existing services and bilingual programs.
Specifically, NBMC:
- Offers organizational development templates for operational, human resource and Board development materials, including internal policies, and constitutions in both official languages
- Provides access to appropriate strategies for capacity building bilingual training focused on professional development, technical skills and sharing best practices
- Assists in the development of bilingual assessment procedures to measure both short and long term effectiveness of organizational capacity building endeavours
- Coordinates access to channels of consultation with all stakeholders
- Supports public education community campaigns that serve to raise awareness of the richness and Francophone culture
