NBELT
The New Brunswick Employment Language Training Program is specifically designed to address the key determinants of successful newcomer integration into the New Brunswick Labour Market. The Program comprises Employment language training (ESL), cultural orientation, employment preparation, Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) E-Portfolio development, information technology instruction/upgrading, and up to 26 week paid work placements.
The NBELT Program distinguishes itself in the following ways:
- It is the only ELT Program in Canada to offer up to 26 weeks work placement, funded through the Department of Post-Secondary, Education, Training and Labour.
- It is the only ELT Program in Atlantic Canada to offer direct service delivery in more than one geographical area of the province.
- It is the first ELT Program to develop innovative, client-centered approaches to service delivery that address the employment-related language needs of the newcomer, within the economic, cultural and demographic context of the geographical area (urban/rural, full-time/part-time program delivery, etc.).
